AGDRC Tries Side Saddle

Safe from the rain in the lovely indoor school at Tyrellcote Farm on Saturday, we enjoyed something different: Having a go at side saddle with Ginny Oakley Pope.

Ginny ran shared lessons, with each pair of riders first warming their horses up in their normal tack, before they were fitted with a side saddle, with Ginny educating and entertaining us with anecdotes and facts about the saddles and the history of ladies riding aside.

Once the saddles were sorted, the riders were helped on and rode side saddle under Ginny's expert tuition for the rest of the session.

The horses were all fantastic, the riders did really well and everyone enjoyed it. So if you've ever wondered what it would be like, keep an eye on our events, as we will try to run another one later in the year!
