Milly Jones and Nutty

When did you start riding?

I started by being plonked on a pony and trotted up the road at 18 months, but have consistently ridden since age 12

When did you join AGDRC?

I joined this year after attending a Jumping clinic with Kelly Turner which both Nutty and I really enjoyed - I was encouraged to sign up for the Show Jumping as a result!

What horse(s) do you currently own or ride?

I ride Nutty, aka Mill Nuez, a 6 year old Andalusian gelding with a supper scopey jump

What equestrian activities do you do?

We have competed in Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing and Hunter Trials over the last year. We also enjoy lots of hacking, sponsored rides and a bit of bridleless jumping!

Do you have a horsey goal or aspiration?

My main goal is to give Nutty the best start to his career and to produce a lovely, happy horse

What are you most excited about with regards to being a member of the club?

I have never been part of an equestrian team event, so am really excited to meet my team mates and have some fun at the Winter Show Jumping Qualifiers!

What riders influence you?

I admire and have followed Lissa Green and Abi Hutton for a number of years. They are both down to earth, hard working and absolutely adore their horses. Both also brilliant to follow on Instagram!!

Do you have any "pre-game" rituals?

Not a ritual so much as bribery - Nutty always gets a piece of apple from my pocket when I get on!

What do you consider to be your equestrian career highlight?

Probably would have to be getting interviewed by Horse and Country TV and appearing on their review of the Sunshine Tour at Hickstead after making a bit of a scene on the ex-racehorse I was competing in the Dressage championships!

Anything else we should know about you/your horse(s)?

The Winter Show Jumping Qualifiers will be Nutty's 5th ever show and 2nd competitive Show Jumping outing, lucky for me he has a very mature head and loves his jumping!
