Area 7 FOTH Combined Training Qualifier

Our jumping and eventing team has grown again since the Winter SJ Qualifiers in January, and we find ourselves entering our first Combined Training qualifier in quite some time. This time round, the team was made up as follows:

Senior Team - AG Pinksters

Lauren Hewett & Coole Ben

Milly Jones & Mill Nuez Kate Bouchier & Dexter's Calico Joe Jo Rimell & Primitive Gold

We're always so proud of our riders no matter the results, and today at our team's first Combined Training qualifiers - we couldn't be prouder!

The dressage rounds all went smoothly, with all team results being in the 60-70%'s. Some really good scores girls!

Unfortunately we had one elimination in the show jumping, but what an achievement for a qualifier to be Lauren and Ben's first properly competitive show jumping experience - she's really coming on so much and is really doing the team proud! The rest of our team came home with faults in the show jumping, but it was such a great experience for all horses and riders - and what a fantastic show of team spirit, with team members arriving early and sticking around to cheer on the rest of their team!

The team was not placed overall, but we want to give a big shout out to Kate Bouchier who placed 4th individually! Well done Kate!

It's important to note, that the main aim for our teams is to go out and have fun! And this is the reason we hear, time and time again from our team members, that they joined the team and want to represent our club.

The day at Grange Farm E.C. was forecast to be mild and overcast, but dry. And apart from the wind being a little cold, the weather held out for us!

The club's helpers for the day were Mandy Hewett, Lauren Hewett and Marianne Rabanal, and all did a grand job in the stewarding for the outdoor dressage arena, and pole picking for the show jumping ring. Our team can't compete without helpers, so these really are the most important jobs and we're so grateful!

Next up? Horse Trials at Keysoe on 20th April. We currently have spaces at 90cm and 100cm.

Summer Dressage at Home Farm Alconbury on 7th July. More details for this to follow.

Summer Show Jumping at Glebe Farm on 21st July. More details for this to follow.

If you're interested in joining the jumping or dressage teams for future events, please contact one of the team managers (Sarah Legg for jumping, Gill Benwell/Lauren Hewett for Dressage) or email us at info@aspleyguiseridingclub.com

We're always happy to see our teams grow, Senior or Junior! And we'd really love to hear from some more Juniors who would be interested in representing our club at Area Qualifiers and Nationals.
