On Saturday 31st August 2019, Aspley Guise & District Riding Club went to the BRC NAF Five Star Summer National Championships at Lincolnshire Showground!!!
We have 4 horse and rider combinations who had qualified throughout the year:
Kate Bouchier & Dexter's Calico Joe (Senior 85cm Style Jumping) Poppy Read & Dudley High Stonebridge (Senior 75cm Style Jumping & Intro Dressage) Imi Bradbury & Siepke's Ilona (Mixed 100cm Show Jumping) Helen Nicholls & Angelo of Dalwhinnie (Senior 80cm Show Jumping)
Poppy and Imi both arrived Friday night, chosing to stable together the night before at this prestigious event, whilst Kate and Helen braved driving up early Saturday morning.
The club gifted the girls a commemorative hoody each for qualifying and representing Aspley Guise & District Riding Club at the Nationals - and they had some fun modelling for us! (Shoutout to Tracey Toombs for planting the seed of thought around club bandanas for our canine support crew!)
All in, we had a fantastic fun-filled day and hope for more opportunities for the club to go out together to Nationals. Here are the scores on the doors:
Poppy - 3rd in the Senior 75cm Style Jumping and 11th in the Intro Dressage Kate - 21st in her arena, 41st overall Imi - 16th Helen - 12th
