New Committee Profile: Poppy Read

Poppy Read | Sharnbrook | Senior | Eventing | Volunteer Organiser & Assistant Team Manager

When did you start riding?

I started riding when I was about 3, first sitting on my grandmother's horse and have ridden ever since.

Why did you join AGDRC?

I joined the club last year because of all the opportunities and friendliness of all the members!

When did you join the committee?

I joined the committee in July 2019 because I'm interested to work towards how we can improve and how we can create new opportunities for our members.

What horse(s) do you currently own or ride?

I currently own a young mare called Bella who I’ve backed myself and am producing to event when she’s ready. She will make about 16.3 and has a really mellow nature so fingers crossed she will be lovely in the future. I’m also fortunate enough to have the ride of a lovely gelding called Dudley who’s 16.1 Irish bred, and his forte is show jumping although can produce a nice test too if he has to!
